Arizona's Five C's Illuminated at Kellond
Third-grade students have been exploring the art of shadow puppetry while integrating social studies concepts, focusing on Arizona’s Five C’s: cattle, copper, climate, citrus, and cotton. Each student selected one of the Five C’s and wrote an original script centered on their topic. They then designed and created their own shadow puppets and experimented with a variety of stage setups for their performances.Throughout the project, students developed skills in dialogue writing, script development, and theatrical performance. They brought their stories to life by rehearsing and presenting their shadow puppet plays for one another, combining creativity with meaningful learning in both theatre and social studies.
